Download link: https://github.com/featherbb/featherbb/releases/tag/1.0.0-beta.1

.zip package
.tar.gz package

You can upgrade from any FluxBB forum. The database schema remains unchanged. You only have to move your config.php file to include/config.php and change PUN to FEATHER.

Hi adaur.

Good work :up

I suppose that, actually, it is usable only on a "stock" Fluxbb, I mean without any mod ...

Cheers, it's the first available release Smile

I'm not sure to understand what you mean, but yes, it is usable as a stock FluxBB. You can port mods written for FluxBB on it, but you'd have to rewrite major parts of them.

Thanks! Well, you already have the rewriting feature. What do you want next? Meta description and canonical tags?

Concerning the post editor, I'm not sure how to handle this yet. I don't want a monster-editor but I don't have the js skills to write one by myself.

Yup, meta description and canonical tags. There are some simple yet really cool editor on Github. Did I suggest you some already?

Re: FeatherBB v1.0.0 Beta 1

I don't think so. I'd prefer not to ship jQuery with the core, however all the editors I've found yet use heavy JS frameworks.

Hi adaur.

Yes, I think you understood well what I meant (I did not properly told it, sorry, I mainly speak French Smile ).
I meant that, when migrating from a FluxBB "basic" forum, it should work ...
But, like many of us, the problem will be because we have added mods, and sadly mods are only mods, they are not part of the core ...

I'll try FeatherBB, but not too soon, because I have about 40 mods on my forum, and I would lose most of these mods, except rewriting these ...

FeatherBB, in my opinion, is the best continuation to FluxBB ...

Hey, so here are the list of some simple editors I found:

1. https://github.com/summernote/summernote
2. https://www.froala.com/wysiwyg-editor
3. http://xing.github.io/wysihtml5/

Let me know which one you already have in mind.

Re: FeatherBB v1.0.0 Beta 1

Hi adaur,
Very happy to see this first Beta for FeatherBB  Smile

My first observation: Be careful about specific (non standard) functions !

"PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function apache_get_modules()
in ***/featherbb-1.0.0-beta.1/include/functions.php on line 1956"

This function if available only if you server uses Apache, and only if you don't use it in CGI mode.

So if you want take into account 'mod_rewrite' or other Apache's module,
you should do in some "if (function_exists('apache_get_modules')) {" block, or similar solution.

You current solution would force Nginx URLs with a "/index.php" ! It's bad.  Wink  Smile

Thanks for your work

Re: FeatherBB v1.0.0 Beta 1

@Oukiva: I realized that after the release, when I uploaded the package here, where I use Nginx... oops.

I don't know yet how to handle the detection of rewriting - maybe a setting in admin options?

Meanwhile: https://github.com/featherbb/featherbb/blob/development/include/functions.php#L1954

Thanks for your report!

@daymond I'll take a look, thanks.

@sklerder: there will be a hook system to write mods Wink

Yes, I noticed this information Wink

But there will be some work then to adapt mods coming from FluxBB ...
