There could be type of notifications between FluxBB (redirect oldish style) and present FeatherBB (nearly no notifications) : use Slim flash sessions with Bootstrap alert component, as you did for posted message errors (orphan tag and so on). I have already used such system with other frameworks, so it shouldn't be a problem to code the same here.
Notifications play a role in a good user experience IMO, this way it stays non-intrusive (because no redirection) and still confirm to users that all went right.
What do you think ?
Great idea !
The stock redirection in FluxBB is quite annoying imho (and disabling it means loosing the user-friendly confirmation)
You are both right.
I've implemented this here: https://github.com/featherbb/featherbb/commit/3b6fa55034c5c30757be023ad0221d6ee7abf873
I'm waiting for your reviews.
It needs more restyling, though, especially after a post is made.
